Died 29 November 2008, aged 42: Scott Wallace, of Woolgreaves Croft, Sandal, died suddenly aged 42 after suffering a heart attack. He was a dedicated member of Junior Chamber International (JCI), a voluntary organisation which focuses on development and leadership, and works on community projects. He was also on the board of the Wakefield Community Foundation, was a governor at Wakefield College and was on the board of Wakefield First.
Friend and fellow member of Wakefield JCI, Karen Jamieson, told the Wakefield Express: "He was passionate about his work in Wakefield. Although he was born in Dumfries and remained a true Scotsman, he put his heart and soul into his community work in this area. He loved living in Wakefield but always stayed true to his Scottish roots and would wear a kilt at black tie occasions. We had a piper at his funeral and it brought a tear to everyone's eyes." Mr Wallace moved to Wakefield in 2001 when he became general manager of Warburton’s on Westgate. The funeral was held at Wakefield Crematorium
