Died 9 July 2013, aged 84: Retired civil engineer Terry Hall was the former chairman of governors at Sandal Endowed School and a governor at Kettlethorpe High School. He also founded the Wakefield Association of School Governors. Mr Hall, who lived at Notton, was a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers. He was employed by the National Coal Board after his graduation from university and he later worked for Yorkshire Imperial Metals where he was the company’s civil engineer for 17 years. He then left for Nigeria, where he was project manager for a university campus development. When he returned to the UK he became direct labour manager for the borough council at Ashford, Kent. He subsequently went to Hillingdon Hospital in Middlesex, later working for a company that built incinerators. He was married to Joan for 31 years and had three children and seven grandchildren.
