Died on 2 November 2013, aged 92: Woodthorpe Golf Club flew its flag at half-mast for respected member Eric Richmond, a butcher who built up a successful business with seven shops across the district, including Busy Corner, and a factory in Ossett. He was a member at Woodthorpe for more than 50 years and the club has a competition trophy named after him. Mr Richmond was born in Soothill and went to school in Ossett.
